"The beauty of the Arctic is in full swing," says photographer Fredrik Broms of Kvaløya, Norway. "Strong auroras have been observed each night for a full week now, beginning after nightfall and going on most of the night until early morning. A particularly nice display came on Jan. 13th when the sky exploded in green and purple. Bright moonlight only added to the beauty." As an example, he offers this shot of "a very happy aurora watcher" in the Norwegian mountains:
The non-stop display might be coming to a temporary end. Earth is exiting the solar wind stream that sparked the brightest lights, and the next stream is not due to arrive until Jan. 19-20. Photographers, take this opportunity to recharge your cameras and, of course, be alert for auroras.

Looks like the aurora solar flare period may be quiet for a while now...Interesting that the vast majority of the aurora pictures has been green...In the chakra color healing system that I learned, green is placed in the solar plexus chakra... (others place it in the heart region) for the cooling and the anger/fire energy, and to help process anger issues. In the 5 Buddha Mandala, anger processing is related Akshobya who became enlightened by a vow to never get disturbed by anything that happens (or to process any disturbance into peace). The medicine for anger is the "mirror-like wisdom". This has a dual meaning. One is to accept whatever is present in the way a mirror reflects whatever is put in front of it, with no attachment, no clinging, no identification, and no resistance. The second meaning is to see that everything is unfolding perfectly, regulated by universal law, including the laws of karma and grace, that if some "teacher of patience (ksanti)" appears in our life we see that it is our karma from past lifetimes coming to fruition so that it can appear and end. Many of us are having somewhat rough lives because karma is being "gathered" and placed in our life in order to end completely. This is because many are intending to become fully enlightened in this lifetime and there are no more lifetimes to place karma in. The karma buck stops here. There are no accidents, every event is synchronistic and meaningful. The teacher Jesus gave some powerful medicine in these words, "Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, pray for those who persecute you, in order that you may be sons and daughters of your beloved cosmic Father-Mother (Abwoon) who pervades the sacred dimension of life." Jesus points to what I call the "fast track" for processing.
